2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
Journeys are so important, you can see where they began, where you are now and the places they are designed to take you. They can be journeys of destinations, journeys of wellness or journeys of the heart.
Hello, I am Megan (pronounced with a long E). I met my love in college and we married after he graduated. We raised two beautiful children and are now enjoying our grandchildren here in Kansas. I would like to share with you the events that sent me on this journey of my heart to inspire others on how to maintain the wellbeing of their body, mind, and spirit.
My journey actually (unaware to me at the time) began when I questioned why I found myself short of breath and miserable after cleaning our home. But my feet really hit the path when our son was diagnosed with asthma. At that time, I also realized that my allergies were not as under control as I thought. I knew something needed to change so I began to look for natural ways to help us both. I started with small changes; I exchanged our cleaning products to more natural ones and got rid of fragrances in our laundry supplies. One day while working with another mom at the school lunch line, I shared my concerns, and she told me how she used essential oils to help maintain her family’s wellness. Now with both feet planted firmly on the path I became a student, researching and putting into use what I learned about essential oils. Sharing those benefits with family and friends began to pull at my heart strings. I wanted everyone to experience those benefits.
While I was on the path of essential oils on this leg of my journey, our daughter who preferred herbal preparations, began her own journey. After graduating high school, she enrolled and studied at Trinity School of Natural Health and became a Certified Master Herbalist. This was another strong tug on my heart strings, and as I began to see the benefits of her herbal preparations and of Trinity’s program, I knew that I would become a student again.
When the time came, I enrolled at Trinity, studied and finished my certification. I am now a Board Certified Traditional Naturopath. During my studies I became passionate about the many ways that we can bring balance to the whole person. Because of the tug on my heart strings to want this wholeness for everyone, I have written a book, Herbalism for Beginners. This book is meant to help others to begin their journey in understanding the benefits of herbs in supporting their bodies. I have designed my website, to be a platform for our wellness journey.
As I continue on my journey of the heart, it is my desire to keep learning and educating others about the benefits of both herbal remedies and essential oils that will help them maintain wellness for these fearfully and wonderfully made bodies.
